Well. . such as it is

Books
I am half way through several books, when I finish one I'll let you know.

Movies/DVDs
Dead Zone Season 4
Hurray, it finally came in from the library. Just as wonderfully thrilling as always. I love Anothony Michael Hall and his hot side kick. You must watch this. Psychic thriller with End of the world theme. Its often sooo bad its good!

Food
Deeped fried drummetes dipped in terriyaki sauce: first of all, its deep fried, second you can dip it in a thick syrupy sauce. mmmmm.

Internship
almost done. Have three of my four press releases in hand so far to use as proof of my writing abilities for future potential employers. I want to post my press releases here so I can show them off, but I need to figure the legal conentations of all this out before doing so.

Books I have Read of Late. . .

The Castle of Llyr by Lloyd Alexander: the 3rd installment to the Chronicles of Prydain series. Another fun read. Taran must learn to see the good in a dumb and goofy prince, and finds his love for Eilonwy growing.
favorite character: Prince Rhun, goofy but so well meaning and strong

Snow Drop(vol.1 and 2) by Choi Kyung-ah: Young rich girl overly protected falls for a poor handsome and kind boy. A cheesy romantic manga. Like eating chips and dip, a bowl of chili. Satisfying.
Favorite character: It's all about Hae-gi. Pretty and blond. Yummy.

Movies I have seen of Late. . .

Underworld Evolution: The movie defines the world whelm, it neither overwhelms nor underwhelms. It just whelms. although the sex scene is worth watching over and over. I see a baby in their future.
Favorite Character: Alexander Corvinus. You must watch to understand why I chose him.

Hex: new BBC tv series about a teen discovering she has gained witch like powers from a 250 year old artifact. Mayhem ensues as always. I have only seen the first two episodes on On-Demand, and I am already in love with it. So is my sister. Which is fortunate, since we rarely find stuff we can watch together.
Favorite Character: Thelma, her ghostly friend. She is wonderful!

Internship Status;

I am very close to finishing. I am on my fourth Press Release. I feel hopeful for my future, but I must remember it cannot come without work. If I'm to become a freelance writer I must try to get as many contacts as possible, and gain as much experience as possible.

News Foods I have eaten. . . .

Lemon and Lime Meringue Pie; Insanely good. There are no words to describe its deliciousosity(yes I made the word up)

Again I come back with my usual dull ramblings that shall surely only please myself.

The books I have been reading:

A Billion For Boris by Mary Rodgers: a delightful and engaging sequal to Freaky Friday. One gets to finally meat Boris' mother and find out his real name.
plot: a tv shows next days airings. mayhem ensues.
Favorite character: Annabelle, again. sorry.

Sweet Sixteen, a Princess Diary book by Meg Cabot: further trials of a young girl in New York who discovers she is a Princess. I will say no more since I feel any young lady should read this series. It is utterly fabulous!
Favorite Character: changes constantly. I love them all, from Michael (yummy!) to Perin (the sexually ambivalent person).

I can only write of my recent books. I must go.

okay. so I know that I'm a lazy livejournaler. I never use it. So I'm determined to turn over a new leaf and start writing again. No matter how dull, or odd, or useless. I will say it here. First of all I'm going to be very very tedious and write out any books I've read of late and write a quick commentary on them. Then I'll give an update of how my Internship at Collectors Press is going. Then If I have time I'll go into minute detail regarding anything I have eaten recently that I thought was utterly fabulous. Or just plain yummy.

So here are the books I've just read of late:

The Black Cauldron by Lloyd Alexander (2nd book in the Chronicles Of Prydain) - An utter joy to read! A Mixture of 1960'sesque caricature types coupled with a delightful attempt at sounding Lord of the Ringsy
Favorite Character: Eilonwy, absolutely adore her. I want to be her.
Vampire Hunter D Volume 1 by Hideyuki Kikuchi- Sheer poetry! I felt so apart of everything around me in the book. The descriptions literally leapt off the page.
Favorite Character; D of course! He could have me anytime he wants.
Freaky Friday by Mary Rodgers - Love that book. Annabelle Andrews is one of the funniest character's ever written.
Favorite Character - Duh! Annabelle. Who'd you think? If you pressed me I'd say I also love Boris (really Morris) and Annabelle's Mom.
Spirit Walker by Michelle Pavers (Second in the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness) - Another great book. Both have been soooo good! I can literally feel myself transforming into a member of the Wolf Clan. Running around in the Prehistoric forests of Scandinavia, wearing animal skins and Hunting with my bow and arrow.

Onto my Internship. I know it is boring, but I really am enjoying it. I don't wish to jinx anything though so don't be surprised if I come back next week complaining. If you don't know anything about Collectors Press, well you should. They publish the coolest books ever. The Retro Cooking series for one. As well as books about retro fashion, retro comic books, retro pulp books, retro anything really. Please visit their website to see all their latest fun books.

Food! Glorious Food!
I had Dim Sum yesterday with my sister and my Mum. The sesame bean paste buns were the best I've had in a long time. A long long time.(teehee, just had to pop in a little Star Wars quote)
Last Sunday our family gathered, Just me, mum and dad, Corey (my sister), and Heidi(another sister) with her husband and my niece. We had BBQ hotdogs, BBQ bratwursts, and BBQ Kabobs (teriyaki marinated beef cubes and mushrooms with cubes of fresh pineapple (not the canned kind) and Onion. It was all so yum yum yummy!

Movies (okay strictly not I category I had previously stipulated, but I realized it would be silly not to add this in, since I'm known in my family as the Movie/DVD Geek.

Howl's Moving Castle - loved loved loved it! Every time you watch it you get this urge to watch it again.
Favorite character - Sophie. I'd never be Sophie with her cleanliness obsession, but I admire her assertive and forthright character very much. I do also love Turnip Head and would love to be his true love.
Samantha and Napoleon ( or was it Napoleon and Samantha?) well it really doesn’t matter since the movie was so bad I had to fast forward through a good portion of it. The only reason I watched it was it was Jodie Foster's debut film, and I love her. Don't bother watching unless dying of boredom.
Favorite Character - okay, I know. I here all of you out there saying kumquat? well, you can like a character but not like the movie. I say I liked Danny, the young man who helped the two kids (in the title) figure through all their problems. He was a totally hot 70's type guy. Who can resist that?
Lillie - a cheesy 1970's soap opera type mini series from the U.K. Only watched 4 eps. so far. It takes place in Victorian England, and Liilie is the main character. A Beautiful and strong willed young lady that everyone loves, and she exploits the fact to the best of her abilities. Which I firmly stand behind.
Favorite character - well, my initial reaction is to say Lillie, but rivaling her is Oscar Wilde (yes they put in a young utterly yummily cute guy to be Oscar), and they are the best of friends. I could eat Oscar with a spoon!

Well that is about everything. If you have opinions, even rude ones, please post them. thank you.

The other day I had a dream, both strange and romantic. Yoda and I were on a sort of adventure, however at one point we bumped into some rather strange creatures of a large and slimy green nature. during the course of this encounter Yoda lost his own body, and found it was replaced with the body of a very attractive young man. It then occurred to both Yoda and I that we were each other's soul mates, and we looked into each other's eyes and felt the love between us grow. It was more romantic than any other dream I can recall, despite the complete lack of physical contact I experienced with Yoda. It was more like we were touching each other through the force. I wondered afterwards however, why Yoda? Why not Luke Skywalker, whom I love dearly. Being loved by Yoda felt safer however, like with Yoda's love nothing could harm me.

I just received a Christmas e-mail from the Heart fan club site. Its a lovely drawing of a bird done by Nancy with the word Pax above the bird, and the phrase Love rules beneath it. I hope any who can see this will enjoy it.

Happy Christmas to all!

She couldn’t find herself in his eyes
She saw only darkness
She saw only deceit
She saw only lies

Her body trembled
wavered and feared
What if she cannot
What if she dare not
Tell him of their child

She felt the heat of battle
Emanate from his very skin
It smelled of burning smoke
Of lightsaber singed parts
And droid oil

He searched and saw himself in her
He saw an innocence there
He felt himself losing
What wavers there he must know

His strong arms firmly around her
He held her steady and found a weakness
The force spoke of a sorrow
The force spoke of happiness
What is it she must tell him
What is this she holds deep inside her

He sensed the warmth of life overflowing
Coming from her very skin
It smelled of roses
Of sweet blood flowing
Of scented oils in her hair

Tell me my love
He said to her
Tell me my Padme
What troubles you so?

I just learned all about photo cropping, and scanning. This lovely picture I got out of my book "Star Wars: The Magic of Myth". It's a painting by Ralph Mcquarrie, who according to my Mother I am a very distant relation of. As in so distant he wouldn't know who I was, but he still is a fantastic artist. He actually has done several images from Star Wars. I chose this one since I love the idea of being with Luke on Dagobah, learning the force while falling in love. Ahhhh.

I finally figured out how to write in to my first community. I also finally found my third picture. I feel like such a girl with all my guy pics, but I will probably change every once in a while. I also want to do Leela from Doc. Who someday, and maybe one of the Heart chicks. I am not doing much of anything at the moment. I've pottered about today, ate a quesadilla, and contemplated the return of my sister from school. She's dead on her bed right now, that is to say zonked out. I like moments like these. Quiet, typing away, while listening to Heart on a soft volume. I apologize if I'm listening to this a lot but I loooove Heart, and mainly their 70's albums. I need to get a hold of their Magazine album though, which was on record for a bit, then gone, and now it's finally on CD. I have not much else to say. so I shall be thee farewell.

I just discovered the cheese journals. They are such lovely people. Often a group of people will come with one or two negative humans in the bunch, but not the cheese lovers. Or perhaps its just that cheese makes everyone feel so at peace with one another. It's almost like love isn't all you need, it's Cheese! It just brings everyone together. I just feel so emotionally positive after visiting the cheese communties. I highly recommend it to anyone, even if just for a little mental pick-me-up.

Doctor Who

Posted on 2005.11.09 at 21:48
Just getting a feel of changing my pic. So far I have only boys. I really wanted this pic to be Leela, my favorite Doctor Who character, but it just didn't work out. I do like Adric too. Cute little math genius that he is. I'm not a math genius. but I always got good grades in the classes I did take. Between B+ to A+. I'd rather be Leela though. Running around it animal skins, with a dagger in my boot, ready to defeat any enemy that came near me. Well, I'm writing while my sister's knits. The cat is cuddling on my sister's bed. Oh man! I just remember I completely forgot to watch That 70's Show. I know, I know, it's basically gone down the drain, but I still love watching. I just really miss Eric and his Star Wars geekiness. Alas.

What am I doing here?

Posted on 2005.11.09 at 20:20
So here I am, stepping carefully into a new world. I do not know what my purpose here is yet, or why I am doing this, but I hope to find this whole live journal diverting. I am hopefully going to stay up late tonight watching Attack of the Sloanes(sorry, Clones) and Revenge of the Sieve (oops, Sith, teehee). Anyhoo, I wish to state that I am not purely a Star Wars geek. I am an adorer of all things sci-fi, and yes in my opinion Twilight Zone is Sci-fi. What else is sci-fi but the fictionalized speculation of any science, be it technology or psychology. Or any other science you please. well, May the Force be with you.
